At the May General Meeting Certificates of Recognition were awarded to each member who completed the 85th Annual 40 Mile Hike. A week of hiker celebrations. CHC members who hit the trails this week were able to enjoy several celebrations. Ray Lusin achieved the highest ever accumulative hike mileage, 60,000 miles with the Club. Bob Maruna turned 80 years old and treated hikers at Camp Onwego and on his birthday hike he shared his celebration with Ray. Janez (John) Gabrovsek led a hike on his 75th birthday. At the celebrations Peter Carlsson presented each of them with a selection of earlier hiker photographs.

Photos from the CVNP Hike at Lock 29 (Joan Clark - Leader) are on the website. Cold temps, ice covered trails and brilliant sunshine made this hike as good as it gets this time of year. A map of the GPS track is also included. This was your webmaster's first hike this year!
